Collections Coordinator

Due to significant growth in our programs, we are seeking a dynamic and energetic collections professional looking to take the next step in their career. This role will be responsible for most functions of billing collections, in the healthcare environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/ DUTIES

The essential functions/duties include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Maintaining accounts receivables to ensure accurate and timely payments
  • Working closely with internal departments and outside agencies to resolve payment issues.
  • Monitoring insurance payments
  • Running reports
  • Contacting insurance companies to resolve claims that are not being paid.
  • Identifying coding or billing problems from EOBs and work to get corrections done in a timely manner
  • Performing follow ups on all assigned accounts and reports balances over 60 days to the Controller on a monthly basis
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The items listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
  • Knowledge of Insurance claims and collections strongly desired
  • Strong computer skills required, as the person will be working on multiple systems. Strong interpersonal skills as well as the ability to problem solve
  • Ability to multi-task, work in a fast paced environment and remain focused through daily interruptions
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

REQUIREMENTS
  • 2 + years related collection experience, preferable with a healthcare agency
  • Experience with third party billing
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Hand dexterity ability (ability to operate mobile device, telephone, computer) Ability to lift up to 10 pounds
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
