**job description**

Account Service Specialist

*This is a temporary remote position for about 3 months or long

*Windows laptop and internet access required

*Must be able to participate in webex training and meetings

*Excel experience a plus

*Production based role

*Must be task oriented and focused

Responsibilities:

- Under general supervision and in accordance with established policies, procedures, state regulations, and production based quotas, researches and processes suspended new business enrollment applications and/or policy conversions using multiple core administration databases and systems

- Ensures that applications meet established standards and state specific Department of Insurance regulations for issuing new business, including associate information, plan codes, and underwriting guidelines; keys pertinent data onto formatted screens within the computer system; verifies the accuracy and completeness of data entered; researches error codes and makes necessary corrections; issues or suspends applications as appropriate

-Calculates and balances premiums as necessary including processing associated forms and noting discrepancies for further research and resolution; refers or consults with Lead and/or Supervisor regarding non-routine or more complex issues; interacts with other business units and field associates as necessary to resolve issues and inquiries and to maintain efficient data and information flow

- Facilitates the processing of certificate requests, including standard and custom packets, daily issue files in addition to Whole Life and Universal Life

- Researches problems regarding Compliance forms and insurance certificates using multiple systems/databases; uses personal knowledge of products, processes, codes, and terminology to troubleshoot issues; researches current and historical group data in order to identify the best course of action

- Maintains effective and accurate online records, databases, or manual filing systems (e.g. SharePoint, CRM, and Genelco) that provide a quick-reference resource for information on department activity and document/correspondence status; prepares department productivity statistical reports and other ad hoc reports

- Performs other related duties as required

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:

- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services; this includes needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction

- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology

- Skill in giving full attention to what other people are saying; taking time to understand the points being made; asking questions as appropriate

- Skill in understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem solving and decision-making

- Knowledge of the insurance industry, to include products, processes, and terminology, and the ability to interpret complex language in state insurance laws and regulations

- Knowledge and thorough understanding of policy language, products, benefits, limitations and exclusions

Qualifications:

- Experience and intermediate skill in using Microsoft Office Suite software

- Prior Insurance experience preferred

- Skill in using mathematics to solve problems

- College degree or equivalent and three years of work experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience

- Advanced skills and comprehensive knowledge of the principles, concepts, practices and procedures to process

- Skill in using mathematics to solve problems
